THE FORMAL PROPOSAL

talk about a whirlwind romance. i cant even get the dates right. im sure we got together may 2003, i know he proposed to me (without a ring!) about 4 months after, i was really falling in love with him sept 2003 and then i finally decided that marriage is the next step for us dec 2003. whew! this seems like a lot!

ok so he knows i really wanted a ring. i mean im not really into jewelry but any girl getting married deserves a diamond right? so we were constantly checking jewelry shops in malls so basically he knows what i want. then i found out that the sister of my sister's bf has a shop in virramall. since i think that we could trust her more and not to mention get a good deal we decided to go to her. if im not mistaken this was my bday (july 23) cos we just came from lto and had my license renewed (yup pareho kami VL on my day :) ) so we went there and told her exactly what i wanted. she told us it will be ready in a weeks time. then medyo guilty ako kay sweetie kasi i know wala pa sa budget nya ang ring, ako lang ang nagmamadali to go to the shop so that we would know how much it will cost.

then weeks and weeks went by. i was not mentioning it cos sweetie had a lot of work in the weekends and we were constantly having tampuhans that time.

on sept 24 about 11pm, out of the blue, sweetie wanted to get dressed and go out. this was not really out of the ordinary for us, he can get really sweet sometimes. since it was late na gusto ko ung malapit lang. so i suggested captains bar (which is just a block away) but he wanted something more special... ok fine im not kidding myself... of course naisip ko na din na bibigay nya na sakin ung ring. pero it has been so long na that we went to the alahera na im not raising my hopes. so we finally decided to go to westin. gosh closed na ang poolside nila :( tapos we went to the bar and we were disappointed na sports bar na pala yun! its used to be a classy place... tapos isip ng isip si sweetie. he even suggested we go to tagaytay pero super late na and i know he's tired. sabi ko malate pero ayaw nya cos madami daw tao. then i thought of the sky lounge in diamond. went there once (with someone else nga lang) and i thought its a nice quiet place. so happy naman sya and we decided to go there.

the place is indeed very nice. very cozy, romantic and wala masyadong tao sa non smoking area. and i love the twinkling stars on the ceiling. they had a great band that night pa. they were playing jazz and they even played my requested songs. tapos mukhang sweetie was in the mood talga, always whispering 'i love you' in my ear over and over again.

then he hugged me while the band was playing 'when i fall in love' then he said 'sweetie will you marry me?' and then theres the ring! oh my god! i still felt surprise i swear! i had tears in my eyes and we both had the biggest smiles on our faces. god it felt soooo good.

tapos he told me later that he thought i saw the ring box na kasi nga it was bulky inside his pocket. and that he really made sure the waiters were out of sight. he had the ring na pala with him for weeks na din but really wanted to surprise me kaya talgang pinatagal nya.

sooo nice my ring. its very simple, just the way i wanted... syempre ba naman ako nag design eh hehe. so heres the story of my sweeties proposal. a simple one but one i cannot forget :)
