EAR CANDLING

I was finally able to download the photos from my phone. So as promised here are Neal's photos while having the ear candling service at Lotus Spa.


The process starts off with lighting this long wax paper from Egypt (They tell me these candles can only be bought from Egypt and Indonesia, or is it Thailand?). Neal's face is protected by the paper plate and cloth on his face.

When the burned portion of the candle was about 2 inches already, she will cut it off using scissors and placed in this gold bowl with water. She showed me that there was earwax already in the water. Eeew.

Some people don't like to finish the candle all the way because it gets too hot. Of course Neal isn't like that. He wants value for his money hehe.

Finally, the candle is put off using a little metal bell. Now it's time for the other ear. I think it took about 20 minutes for each ear. I didn't take photos of the earwax anymore. Too gross. Just check the link above. It looked almost like that.
